Hilliard’s was getting its start in the midst of a microbrewery craze. Among the first to play off the common misconceptions and advantages to canning rather than bottling beer, I create a brand that drafts off of the style of classic beer labels. It is inspired by—and elevates—the inexpensive products that were ubiquitous before the craft beer boom.

As a result, Hilliard’s stands out from the do-it-yourself aesthetics of many Northwest brewers as a contemporary canned beer that gives a respectful wink to its mainstream predecessors.
